Collection: Jigged Leeches

A classic leech pattern, tied on jigheads to be fished on the spinning rod.

John Rohmer's Simi Seal leech pattern has been a staple in the fly fishing world for decades. This simple but extremely effective pattern combines great movement from the body materials with a natural tapered profile that effectively imitates leeches, baitfish, and a variety of other trout food sources. By tying this pattern on ballhead jigheads, this allows the jig to be fished a variety of different ways. Smaller sized jigged leeches can be jigged on an ultralight set up to cover more finesse situations, or larger sizes make for an awesome jigged streamer that can be fished more aggressively or to target large predatory trout. We have had incredible success with these everywhere from Pyramid Lake NV, to the Eastern Sierras, Utah, Idaho, Montana and beyond. When targeting wild trout on the spinning rod, this has become our go to.
