About Us

In the fall of 2017 we began selling the hand tied jigs we created from our personal fishing. It had been years of trial and error experimenting with the concept of blending together fly tying, and the ultralight "mini-jigging" style of trout fishing cultivated in Southern California. During our time fishing San Diego lakes after high school classes, we honed in on a specific style of jig with the action, flash, and unique profile to trigger instinctive bites from trophy stocked trout. The original "Trap Jigs" were never even meant to be sold, but after the success of the jigs became apparent, the flood gates were opened and haven't slowed down.

Since then, we have expanded our line up beyond the original Trap Jigs and now offer jigs for a much wider array of trout fishing scenarios. Whether backcountry lakes, small creeks, large road side reservoirs, large tailwater river systems, freshly stocked trout, naturalized planters, or 100% wild fish, we have jigs for you.

Why Hand Tied Jigs?

Hand tied jigs provide a unique set of advantages as opposed to other tackle and methods. For starters, hand tied jigs are very durable. When tied properly and paired with a high quality resin, we often will catch 20+ fish on the same jig (not a guarantee, just an example of what is possible). Hand tied jigs also open up a whole new world of different materials that each bring unique underwater movement and visual properties. Simply put, the action of for example, marabou or rabbit fur, just cannot be recreated any other way. Hand tied jigs aren't always the only or best answer, but for anglers who take this hobby seriously, or just want to level up their game, hand tied jigs should be a part of your arsenal.

Quality Assurance

Every jig we sell is tied by professional tiers with many years of tying experience, and every jig is double checked for quality in materials and workmanship before it is packaged. Every pattern or colorway that is listed on this website has been proven and tested to be successful in the given fishing situation it is intended for.

We also utilize the best UV resin currently on the market, Back Cast UV. We have found after our own extensive testing that this resin is the most durable and the hardest/quickest curing resin on the market today. Every jig we sell has this resin applied to the final tie off point, and is fully cured in a multi angle UV oven. We have found that even this small application of resin at the final tie off point makes a substantial difference in the durability and longevity of our jigs.

Can I Tie My Own?

Of course! Learning the art of fly tying is an awesome pursuit with many benefits. As a creative outlet it can be a great way to wind down after work, or spend time off the water still participating in the hobby you love. Tying also helps the angler pay more attention to unlocking the code of why fish eat what they eat, and in turn helps you to be more mindful of your overall presentation of what you are throwing.

However, many anglers get into tying for the wrong reasons, such as for the sole benefit of saving money or time. More often than not, taking up fly tying as a hobby will be more expensive than simply buying flies or jigs. Without wholesale pricing on materials, or doing the volume necessary for each specific jig or pattern, it is hard to recover the material costs associated with tying. It should also be noted that there is a learning curve when it comes to tying, and not many people can right away tie to the same level and consistency as someone who has many many years of experience.

So if you want to get into tying, great! And if you know you don't have the time or desire for it, or as you are first learning if you want to round out your supply with professional jigs, then that's where we come in.
